Is Liposuction Scary !

Is Liposuction Painful?

These are the questions that I often received from emails enquiry about my experience of lipo.
To be honest, the discomfort is manageable. The feeling is like muscle aching.

How about during the surgery or it is so scary as seen on the show?

In fact , I don't recall anything or feel any pain during the surgery.
It is not as scary as what it seemed or as seen on the show otherwise I will not be going 4 times!!
As we know that TV Shows are made to be dramatic to have viewers so it may not tell all the truth. You will only hear and know the truth from the people that has been through:)

Is it Destructive ?

I cannot emphasise enough to go for syringe method as the safest choice.
How bad can it be with a syringe as compared machines that is sometimes too powerful to control ? I can go back the next day after my thighs liposuction or tummy/arms lipo. As compared to the gal I came to know when I was in Medan, she shared that her first lipo was using ultrasound machine and she claimed that she was not able to move herself and has to lie on the bed for a few days. However, this time she did lipo with Dr Arthur, she was able to move around and we went shopping together at Sun Plaza in Medan.

So Gals, it is really not scary otherwise I will not be seeing repeated patients including myself going to Medan for liposuction.

Face Liposuction(Double Chin & Jowls)

After divorce , I was so depressed and thrown all my old photos including my marriage photos .

I happened to find this only left old photo of mine at my mum's place and was amazed to see the before and after face liposuction after 3 years.

I used to be very bothered by my double chin and I'm happy that I could remove it by face liposuction with Dr Arthur, his incision is really very tiny to be seen and it is hidden below the chin area. 
Basically , there is no downtime and you can go back immediately or the next day:) 

It's been 2 years ! Did I still maintain my fat transfer & lipo results?

People asking me since my lipo has been 2 years ago, did I put on back the lipo areas ?
I observe I didn't and in fact I put on those areas that I didn't lipo such as breast and butts
This has been what I wanted so much to happen in the past. Of course I did make efforts to maintain my results by jogging once and gymn twice a week.

Medan Safe?

The gals are asking me if Medan is safe ? I will say Medan is safe place and I'm surprised I saw many chinese  there and not just malay. They speak hokkien and chinese that I understand as back at home .
You can see the ladies with their nice hair do at shopping mall .Back in Singapore, every one like to wear slippers and shorts, lol . Over there, you can see the ladies make an effort to dress up especially particular about their hair-do and nails.

One of the gal whom came back from Medan said "The place is really cozy and just like resort ....so free and no feeling of surgery .....we can even saloon for the consecutive 2 days ..went to Medan fair and Sun Plaza for lunch ... ...never expect doing surgery also can have that "holiday " feeling...that's great ..."

The flight to Medan is only 1 hr, very near to Singapore . If you travel by Jetstar http://www.jetstar.com/sg/en/home , the air ticket is only SGD$160 or sometimes cheaper depending on the dates  .

Besides, Dr Arthur Tjandra provide to and fro transport from airport to his clinic to ensure
patients' arrive on time and safely at his clinic for the surgery . He does only one one surgery a day .
Thus his patients has undivided attention from him , like a VIP and he is also staying at the clinic with you so it is 24 hours after Ops care. His nurses are there as well to massage for you after your operation.
Oops not to forget the most important thing to share ...LOL for shopping queen like me,
Doctor's driver also sent you to Shopping Mall and fetch you back to Clinic if you will like to go shopping next day after your surgery. It is really like VIP :) 

Traditional syringe liposuction versus machine-assisted liposuction

Quite disturbed by the recent ST breaking news of the woman in intensive care after liposuction at SGH. Surgeon punctured multiple holes in her intestines.

Just like to share that traditional syringe liposuction is still the safest.
Although, we are always more attracted to the latest fanciest machines like Vaser Liposuction, machine-assisted liposuction.

Doctor Arthur is using the traditional method. His mentor is one of most  prominent figures in modern liposuction: Prof Fong Poh Him (Singapore).  He's very experience and skilful in sculpting the body figure.
As the term syringe liposuction say for itself, it is definitely physically very exhausting as compared using machines . The only disadvantages of syringe liposuction are that it is physically exhausting thus not many doctors want to do that. Dr Arthur keep himself very fit for that and he only does one case in a day so that he can give all his attention to the one patient in that day . Although this translates to less cases, but Doctor Arthur still prefer syringe method as he believe great result and patient safety is more important than more revenues. I suppose we not only want to achieve looking good but also make sure the procedure is safe thus choosing the right doctor is the key.

This is why I'm very impressed with Dr Arthur skills and his professionalism.
